The Bold Truth: J.J. Carrell on Trump, Sanctuary Cities, and the Fight Against Evil
On Tuesday night, I watched a man stand before Congress, before tens of millions of Americans, and perhaps a billion people worldwide, and speak unvarnished truth. That man was Donald Trump, delivering his fifth address to Congress, a speech that didn’t just outline policy but threw down a gauntlet to a nation teetering on the edge of chaos. As a former Border Patrol agent who cut my teeth on the line in 1997—one of the most violent eras in recent history—I’ve seen firsthand what happens when borders erode and systems collapse. What’s happening today, I believe, is intentional. And Trump? He’s the shield standing between us and the abyss.
Trump’s speech wasn’t just a policy rundown—it was a call to arms. He mocked the Democrats sitting stone-faced before him, unwilling to clap even for curing a devastating disease or slashing crime to historic lows. Five times he’s stood there, and five times they’ve refused to budge. It’s sad, but it’s also revealing. They cheered only for Ukraine, not for a 13-year-old boy with brain cancer or Laken Riley’s grieving family. That’s who they are: a party so consumed by Trump Derangement Syndrome they’ve forgotten America.
But this isn’t just about Trump. It’s about us—every American with a spine and a voice. He’s the example, infusing me with confidence and an obligation to speak out. It’s binary: you’re either a coward or you tell the truth. There’s no middle ground. I’ve always been black-and-white, all in or all out. Watching Trump face his enemies head-on, I’m reminded why we must do the same. They’ve tried to jail him, kill him, bankrupt him—yet he stands firm. We should too.
Take the sanctuary city debacle. Yesterday’s congressional hearing with mayors from Chicago, New York, Denver, and Boston was a masterclass in cowardice and deceit. Representative Gary Palmer nailed it: these mayors swore to uphold the Constitution, yet their sanctuary policies violate the Supremacy Clause by shielding illegal immigrants—felons by definition—from federal law. Representative Byron Donalds tore into them, exposing billions spent on illegals while they dodged hard numbers. Chicago’s Mayor Brandon Johnson couldn’t even ballpark it—1% of the budget, he shrugged. New York’s Eric Adams admitted $6.9 billion. Denver’s Mike Johnston lowballed at $79 million when it’s closer to $382 million. Boston’s Michelle Wu? She doesn’t even track it. “We don’t distinguish immigration status,” she said, as if that’s a virtue.
Jim Jordan grilled Johnston over releasing a Venezuelan gang member, Abraham Gonzalez, with a one-hour heads-up to ICE—leading to a parking lot brawl where agents were assaulted. Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna went further, vowing to refer all four mayors to the DOJ for violating U.S. Code Title 8, Section 1324. Will it happen? I’m skeptical—Jim Jordan’s track record with whistleblowers leaves me cold—but at least Luna’s got guts.
These mayors are traitors, plain and simple. My book Treason, a bestseller for nearly three weeks, lays it out: sanctuary cities are a betrayal of American citizens. Wu let a child rapist walk free. Denver released a Tren de Aragua thug into the streets. Chicago’s racked up billions in loans to coddle illegals. Adams begs for federal cash as his city drowns. This isn’t incompetence—it’s evil.
And evil’s what we’re fighting. Not just “good vs. bad”—this is God versus Satan. Ten years ago, if I’d told you we’d be mutilating kids’ bodies, pushing 157 genders, or watching half-naked “trans” performers gyrate for toddlers, you’d have called me insane. Now it’s reality. Democrats cheer it; Republicans too often cower. Trump’s different—he’s outside the uniparty, a symbol of us, the “unwashed masses” they despise.
So what do we do? Be bold. Mock them relentlessly. Trump does it—calling out “Pocahontas” and the “pimp” Al Green with his gold-handled cane, ejected from the chamber by a spine-growing Speaker Johnson. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt does it, slamming Democrats for disrespecting Americans while clapping for Ukraine. We should too. Mock their flags, their “inclusivity,” their lies—because Satan walks this earth, and civility’s out the window when evil’s at your door.
The midterms will crush them—Democrats and RINOs alike. Mark my words: a MAGA wave is coming. Lindsey Graham’s flip on Ukraine shows even the old guard knows they’re done. Support American businesses like MyPillow.com (promo code JJ) and PetClub247.com—keep it in-house, not outsourced to China. Buy Treason on Amazon—it’s being validated daily as Trump battles the rot I exposed.
Trump’s our shield, but we’re the army. Speak the truth. Be bold. Mock the destroyers. America’s worth it.
